Okolí místa praxe: My new international friends and I decided to visit Rijeka, which took about 5–6 hours to reach by BlaBlaCar. We also went on several bike trips to explore the surrounding nature.

O firmě: I did my internship at Protealis, a small start-up located in Ghent. The company’s office and research laboratories are located directly in the city. Around 30 people work there in total. The company also has a larger warehouse in Gavere, where additional employees work, although I did not visit that location very often. Most of the time I worked in a small team with four other people.

Přínos praxe: The main benefit was meeting amazing people from all over the world. I made friendships that will stay even after the internship. Another important benefit was stepping out of my comfort zone and learning how to live and work in a different culture.

Místní kuchyně: I tried a lot of different cheeses — a must for anyone who loves cheese — and they were all excellent. In connection with that, I also tried fondue, which was delicious. Lastly, I’d like to encourage you to buy some good Swiss chocolate — not the kind from the grocery store, but from places like Sprüngli or Läderach. I brought some home, and everyone loved it.

Sport a kultura: Me and 2 interns played a lot of table tennis together. Almost everyday after work we went to play. Also we played football together with other Indians.
During the last week we went to see a cultural event happening in the university. India has a lot of holidays or ceremonies so experienced a lot of different celebrations.
