About the country

Location of the place

I was in the northern part of the Poland close to German border and close to Baltic sea, what was good ocasion to visit number of places.

City

The city is having awesome architecture with a lot of redbricks historical buildings. The city is having a lot of streets with bars, club and cafe to spend time. You can also visit the river bank or Wale Chrogrego.

Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

Berlin, Poznan, Baltic sea, Kolozberg, Wroclaw, Miedzyzdroje.

Work description

I was on the Production Quality Department. I was helping to analyse the root cause of the nonconformity issues and helping them to find the solution. I was also on the incoming inspection and helping them to control the incoming parts from supplier. I have learned to use some tools like Pareto analyses or 3D measuring machine.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

The salary was almost sufficient but if you wana travel a lot you still need to invest some money. It depends on your ambition but i advice to save some money before the internship.

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

I was living in the student dormitory alone. It costs about 400 PLN.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

The members help me a lot. One of the member pick me up after arrival and show me all important things in the city. Each weekend was in some city of Poland the weekend for trainees what was great occasion to get known each other.

Meeting other foreign students

I met a few stundets from the countries like Rumunia, Jemen, Ghana or Ukraine.

Sport and culture

Close to my domrmitory was a big park and workout pitch so ideal for running and doing some training.

Food, local specialties

Pirogi or Pastzeczik Sczecinsky. Others are similar to Czecz Republic

Via phone using Czech simcard, or using email or social networks.

Benefits of the internship

I have learned a lot about quality management system of the company and practice English a lot. They showed me the detailed working of the Incoming inspection and the assembly of the scanner.
