Location of the place

My internship was in Hungary on Budapest suburb in company Hepenix.

City

The Budapest is wonderfull city with lot of place to see. I can definitely reccomend this city because it is magical place and my most favourite city in center Europe. Must see places are definitely: forsale pub, szimpla kert ruina bar, mexican restaurant Tereza and from sightseeing definitely fisherman bastoon, parlament, gelert hill and heroes square.

Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

The best trips are to visit lakes close to Budapest such as Vellence and of course lake Balaton which is 2 hours away from Budapest by train. Also really beautifull city is Pesc.

Employer

I was working in comapany Hepenix which is really good company producing tailor machines and other wide range of engineering stuff. Company was in Diosd which is small village 30 minuts far from budapest.

Work description

I was working on the project of testing the optical measuring software. The task was really creative and i have learned lot of new things. Second task was the quality checking list of the parts which were planned to be used as the main construction of the new company production plant.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

Not efficient is good to have you own savings but it is still posible to survive from the money which you get.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

Iaeste in Budapest is quite classic. They provide us really fine acomodation and took us on some trips to lake Vellence and Vadaspark and help us when we where strugling. They also organized fine Budapest weekend.

Meeting other foreign students

Our group of people was amazing and for people who thinking about an internship and aren´t sure they should realized that you can get contact across whole world and really enrich your life.

Sport and culture

Our dormitory was also great that there was outside pitch and also gym inside the dormitory in basement so we were going there each Teusday. Also great sport is to climb on Gellert hill and there are several running parts and especially that one on Margit Island is amazing.

Food, local specialties

Definitely worth to try is langos, gulas at vasárnok, traditional chili, and several must see restuarants Teraza mexican restaurant, Cirkus for breakfast, London café for breakfast and several street food restaurants such as caravan which serves really great take away meal.

Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic

Just casual I didn´t need them too much because i knew some stuff form previous internship.

Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

Enjoy the moment and as much as it is possible from this wonderful city.

What not to forget with you

Insurance, passport, some dishes and other stuff to save money for purchasing and acceptance letter.

Benefits of the internship

I gain lot of new informations about optical measurements and creation the new production plant in company. Also i have learned a lot from my friends and meet lot of amazing new people and visit really cool places.

Cooperation with IAESTE in the foreign country

We get all necessary info that we need and also the system how they handle the most important tasks is really clever and saved me a lot of time.

Overall experience with IAESTE

The whole system of the internship is great and really easy to goes thorough. I think that is way more easier than to apply for erasmus for example. Iaeste will help with everything and you don´t need to prepare a lot of letter.
