City

Valencia is really beatifull. Centrum is historical and contains a lot of small streets for exploring. There is also nice park inside dried river coridor where you can do a lot of sport. Sea is beautiful and enjoyable for swimming.

Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

I was interested to go hiking, but I have not found anything where to go by myself around. However, there is a direct train to Madrid which is cheap (~22e), so it can be also not trip during a weekend. I spent my free time mostly in a sea, so no regrets

Employer

In communication with bosses was not a problem. I was talking about requirements and I worked on them.
Big problem was that I did not have access to an office whole my stay and sometimes there was no one who can open it to me and I cannot keep my laptop there because I was not sure If I will get there next day.

Work description

I did research and implementation of requirements for Android applications. No problem with a work, no pressure from the employee. Communication OK

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

I think salary covered my expenses. I enjoyed the time being there, so I did not count it.

Language requirements

Employees speak English, so there was not any problem in communication.

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

~340e/month
Flat provided by the company, really nice place, I love it, 30 minutes on way to get to the work.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

I was picked up at an airport by the employee, so no problem.
No event provided by IAESTE, only pub together when I arrived and I left. Nothing during my stay. They said there is only me and one other student, so they will not do any events and trips. Without Spanish, it was impossible to communicate with the local student, so I would be happy even for pubs, picnics or eating together sometimes lunch...

Meeting other foreign students

A university where was IAESTE office also does not do any events for foreigners, so no chance to meet exchange students there. To find foreigners you have to go to parties (use local app Xceed to find them)

Sport and culture

There is a dry-wash and they build a park inside with places for running, biking, football etc, Really nice and big, so no problem do there any activity.
The town is really nice, so I enjoyed exploring it. Also a lot of interesting streets, museums, and churches.

Food, local specialties

I enjoyed the food. I was still trying something new.

Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic

No extra roaming fee for calls, so everything for same prices as in Czech

Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

One thing: Learn Spanish. People in Spain do not speak English at all.

What not to forget with you

In Valencia, days are hot, sometimes rainy, but nights can be cold, so be prepared to it. There is a lot of sports opportunities (especially running/biking/ football), so take also your sports stuff.
