Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

Lots of possibilities to go for a trip in the north of Viet Nam. I went to Ha Noi, Ha Giang, Ha Long, Sa Pa, Yen Bai (lake), Ba Be, Lang Son. After finishing my internship I spend some time in central Viet Nam - Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue.

Work description

Worked with students of the age 4 - 24 years old, had 10 - 34 students in one class. When there were more than 15 students I had difficulties teaching them. I'd prefer to teach maximum of 15 students. There was almost always one teaching assistant who helped me run the class.

It helped me to gain experience in teaching, presentation and communication skills. Also I gained experience in how to work when everything is changing all the time.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

10 000 000 VND / month
- for living it was more then enought, not enough for travelling.

They provided it first (not sure about the price), then when my boyfriend came we had to move out. We lived in a guest house, paid 150 000 VND/room/day.

Once they organised a cooking challenge for all trainees in TN.

Went only once with them to a trip because I had my "weekend" on Monday & Tuesday, the rest had usual weekend which is Saturday & Sunday.

Perfect, sometimes they have internet even in a jungle ;).

Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

Just buy your flight tickets and make sure you buy health insurance. Also don't underestimate vaccination (jaundice, typhoid) and have necessary medicine with you. You can discover everything when you come, and Vietnamese friends will be happy to help you. Try to go ligh-packing, it makes travelling easier. 8 kilos of stuff is enough for 2 months.
