About the country

Location of the place

Romania, I worked in the capital city. It is Bucharest. It is standard Europe town, clean, sometimes you can meet with wild dogs. In smaller city, there is the possibility to see horse cars, livestock in the village. Bucharest have sea, Black sea and very nice mountains.

City

I lived and worked in Bucharest. City has metro, bus, tram. Every city transport has not scheduled. For schedule, you have to use google maps. The city has a lot of parks, where you can relax and at night you can meet with friends. I visited in Bucharest just therme pool, parliament house. In the night is good visited old town, where is a lot of clubs and pubs.

Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

Each weekend we made any trip. I'm lucky I can rent the boss's car for the weekend. You can also for trip used train or blablacar or hitchhike. Here are my places, which I visited.
Brasov, Catle bran, Peles catle in Sinaia, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Fagaras mountain (Transfagaras road, Lacul Balea), Vama Veche (sea city, for party), Varna (Bulgaria), Red lake, Lacul Rosu.

Employer

I worked in the smaller company; the name is Wed.Arch World srl. The company has just one employer, self-employed. She was best, She loaned my car, I should work from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm but the first day, she said me, you can come how you want, I can take days off when I want. I can recommend this work.

Work description

I designed 4th parks, the block of flat and I did two visualizations for cottage. I can use pc in company, but I rather used my computer because it is more performance. I did not have to work in the programs what she required in the job offer.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

Just for a living, it is ok, but lives are very very poor. If you want to travel and visit some places in Bucharest and visit some places outside form Bucharest you need more money. Approximately I need 35 - 40 lei per day without weekend. On the weekend you need more money, for renting car, accommodation, food....

Language requirements

My boss is speaking English on the good level.

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

My accommodation provided IAESTE in from Romania IAESTE. The accommodation is good, and it is a big benefit if you require accommodation from foreign IAESTE because you can live with next students, who live in town like you. I can not remember the price.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

Everything was good. She contacts me 14 days before arrived.

Meeting other foreign students

I meet with other students at the dorm. I lived approximately with next 25 students at the dorm.

Sport and culture

At the dorm we had playground, and we played basketball and football. You can also visit some swimming pool. In Bucharest during summer is a lot of akce , and also next good culture evens are in another town.

Food, local specialties

I cooked at the dorm, and sometimes we visited some restaurants and bars, but I can not remember the names of restaurants.

Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic

Everything is ok, you can call at home, and you will pay the same price like when you are in Czech republic, new rules for a telecommunication company. At the dorm we had WIFI.
