About the country

Location of the place

Szczecin is the great place to choose as its located on Northwest of Poland, it is really close to Berlin with less than 200 km. It also near to big city like Poznan.

City

The city is kind of old big city with lots of history. It has several castel and palace. There is also a big rever with sheeps which make it look beautiful specially at night.the city has got lots of good shops and restaurants like Ukrainian and asian food.

Surroundings (possible trips, ...)

As I said before, the city is close to Berlin with 2-hour distance and also its close to the coast. Moreover, it is not difficult to go to Sweden through the coast by ferry or cruise ship. there is also the very cheap flight to London and Scotland.

Employer

My colleagues were really friendly and caring and they are behaving like a family. I never felt lonely with them and the respective people.there are several local and foreigner student was studying there which make it a more international place to study.

Work description

My working place was fine with lots of new facilities as it was newly built. There were several new types of equipment which made my work easier. the faculty was so close to the dormitory.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

The salary is fine for this city but It was not enough to discover the area. I recommend bringing at least 20% extra. However, it was enough to live in the city and enjoying in Poland. More ever there is some discount available for the student which it makes it cheaper like half price for transportation, and almost 20% discount in any food shop.

Language requirements

Most of the peoples can speak English, German and Russian well, however, if you have the problem with language, don't worry, the people are too kind to help you and try to understand what you say even with body language.

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

The price of accommodation is good and cheap.its provided by the university for around 100 euro per month for a sharing room.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

The IAESTE members were friendly and caring. They help a lot and the provided good events. we had several events and travel to some cities. Moreover their creat events almost 2 times a week and country presentation which make us know more about others countries.

Meeting other foreign students

Tha aim of IAESTE to meet and visit foreigner people and culture. I have met more than 50 people from more than 10 countries like Brasil, Portugal, USA, Scotland and central America which give me the chance to communicate and chat with them.

Sport and culture

The accommodation has a file to do sport inside the camp. there are also several gyms available in a city.

Food, local specialties

The food is great, and the have unique and tasty food and beverage. there are several types of food which are considered as Local food like Gulas, Kalbasa , dumpling and so on. However while there are several Ukrainian and Thai restaurant in the city, so I had a chance to try other countries food.

Other information

Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic

Well as a foreigner in the czech republic it looks similar culture and it has good relations with the Czech Republic. However, If you are Czech, you are almost understand everything and you wouldn't have any problem to communicate with them.

Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

I highly recommend the student to visit this area especially from outside of Europe.

What not to forget with you

The area, atmosphere and the city at night always remind in my mind.Also, the food and the people will stay always in my heart.

Benefits of the internship

As I said, it can give you a chance to meet people from different cultures.It also helps people to be closer and experience new things and increase the team working.
