Master Tomáš Kello, CTU Prague,
ročník 4About the country
Location of the place
Internship was at university UNIST (Ulsan National Institution of Science and Technology). Campus is located near Ulsan city on the South East part of Korea
City
Nearest city was about 10km far from campus. In campus we had small convenience shops and university cafeterias. Transportation to city take about 30 minits by bus(bus every 20mins)
Surroundings (possible trips, ...)
First 3 weekends we had together trips. Group of about 30 students (8 IAESTE, 8 SPIKE program, 15 local students)
Employer
Employer
University is very new. Established in 2009. I chose professor from list and together we find project suitable for me.
Work description
Application of controller and simulator of robot.
Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)
It was equal to minimal salary in Korea. But it was enough for living and food. (excluded transportation and other trips)
Language requirements
They requested excellent English, but average quality is enough.
Accommodation (price, who provided it)
They provided university dorms for about 6e per night
Social life
Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)
I arrived to Busan (not to capital city). And no IAESTE member was in that city. But if you arrive to Soul, they will provide pick-up.
Meeting other foreign students
We met at dorm
Sport and culture
A lot of sport places in campus for free. For culture life you need to go to city
Food, local specialties
A lot of university cafeterias. So it is possible to find the best for you. Local speciality is kimci.
Other information
Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic
Mobile roaming in Korea is very expensive. So I used Skype or other online calls.
Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

What not to forget with you

Benefits of the internship
