Imperial College - University

Work description

Research. I was given a project, almost empty table. I had to manage my time, and deliver results. It wouldn't be
possible without great support from Imperial college staff.

I was working in general research about conjugated polymers, which can be used for a transportation of ions.
I was coupling electrochemical measurements with, absorption measurements. Trying to optically prove presence
of ions in the polymer.

Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)

I had 120GBP/week. Free transportation and accommodation.
Salary was sufficient for food and other general expenses.

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

I had a room and bathroom for myself, alltogether about 10m^2. Kitchen was shared.
Building was about two years old.

Accommodation was provided by my host university, for free.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

UK IAESTE organized many events throw the summer. However, I was so busy that I couldn't attend any. :(

Meeting other foreign students

The school and IAESTE organized many events throw out the whole summer. I attended couple events organized by my employer; lunches picknicks etc. Those weren't as much time consuming.
