Recommendations for students who will go to the same place
If you are going to stay more then 90 days, prepare yourself to pay 20TDN/week for the visa. Learn how to cook, learn the patience, learn how to improvise:) Just be careful. The city train, TGM, is pretty dangerous for the girls. The trainees from Poland and Vietnam were robbed there. Be careful about the discussion with random people in the street. Robbery or payment allert. The trainee from Palestine was robbed in the street. Don´t stare to the important building. Me, as an architect, was looking for a little longer then usual to the Ministry building and the policeman recomended me to look at the other direction. Be careful what you will take a picture of. The trainee from Iran unintentionally took a picture of the couple of soldiers and was pressed to delete that picture. Don´t do track by yourself to the places you don´t know. The trainee from Portugal made a track on the nearby mountain. Unfurotunatelly there was a military base so he got arrested and interrogated so his boss had to come and explain the situation. Be careful about your stuff on the beach. My bag with purse was stolen there even if there were two people who should keep an eye on it. So maybe better to leave the ID, insurance card, maybe driving license at home. If you will decide to stay till the winter, take the real winter clothes. The temperature is tricky because of the humidity. The number of the degrees is always higher then the temperature that you feel. It means 40 summer degrees is like 33 Czech degrees, 15 or 10 winter degrees is like 8 or 2 Czech degrees.
What not to forget with you
Courage, patientce, optimism. Sun glasses, tracking shoes, sport shoes, light summer shoes, kind of the leather shoes to take on during the rainy days, for long term trainees - don´t forget the winter clothes.
Benefits of the internship
English practice, French practice, a possibility to learn arabic, lots of contacts to the great people all around the planet, sharing and gaining working experience in job, with other internship students with the same specialisation, comparing cultural and religious differences, breaking a LOT of prejudices about the different culure and religion. Learn how to be independent.
Cooperation with IAESTE in the foreign country
During the summer: great, no problem, all organisation issues worked, appreciate lot of work and time invested, personally they helped me a lot, recovered me after the beach robbery when they collected money and bought me new bag, purse and even the phone, very appreciate it and thank a lot for that
During the autumn and winter: we met rarely because of understandable reasons of their study duties.

Overall experience with IAESTE
Czech IAESTE did their job properly. Tunisian IAESTE did ther job properly excepting the visa awearness but it is probably not their fault because there is a chaotic comunication between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Carthage police department (visa responsible department) about the visa payment so Tunisian IAESTE was not aware of any visa payment neccesity for the long term trainees. When we discovered that we will have to pay, no one was able to tell us how much, not Tunisian Ministry of foreign affairs, nor Carthage police department, nor IAESTE Tunisia. The whole visa situation cleared up when the first long term trainees had to pay particular sum of the money (20TDN/week) before they left the country.
