Location of the place
Pavlodar is northen industrial city by the Irthis river. It´s about 450 Km to Omsk. It´s 8 hours of train to Astana, 1 hour flight.
City
The city is combination of old detached houses and modern funcional high building from 60s and 70s. The streets are long and straight. And there are really diference of main streets and the side streets. The main is big as our D1 highway and many of the side streets are just sandy paths. There are two trams lines. One of them have tram station next to the university. There are many buses lines. There are also many praks, shops, culture centers, pubs.
Surroundings (possible trips, ...)
Kazakhstan is big country, so the distances is abnormal for people from the Europe. Most of people go to the river for a walk, for a piknick, for a weekend. You are in the middle of step, so for some trips somewhere you will need to have atleast two days free. The nearest is Bayanaul natiaonal park and it will take 4 hours by car to get there. It´s 8 hours by train to Astana and 1 day and 8 hours to Almaty. But the Russia is really near, but you have to have visa.

I was work for InEU. I was working with Mr. Zairovich on project placed in Pavlodar. It was in way of talking about my designs.
Work description
I was working on project called "goose flight". It is one place in Pavldar where acient bones were found and there will be build a paleontoligi museum. My project was design the conference hall and the museum. I was working on my laptop at the dormitory. There are not any free place to work at the University unless you will sit on a lecture. I had talk with Mr. Zairiovich twice a week and sometime it wasn´t easy. Mr. Zairovich dont speak english at all, so if there were some student who know some english he was translating. If there wasn´t any student it was czech-russia talking with drawing and showing.
Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)
In O-from is writen: University provides free lodging and meals and pays student 20000 tenge for pocket money. I expect free meal an accommodation and 20000 for me. But it wasnt so. I get 15 000 for month, 5000 from the 20 000 was for accommodation, and I payed every meal in student cantine. The 15 000 tenge isn´t som much for one month. You have to take your own money or count every tenge you spend. The prices is about 75% of Czech prices.
Language requirements
It is better to know russia. Not much of students know english to be able to talk with you. Thay know some words in better case some phrases. Knowledge of Azbuka is necessary.
Accommodation (price, who provided it)
I stayed in student dormitory next to the university. There were two rooms and bathroom accesible from antechamber. I was useing one of the room and I was alone in this whole apartement. The antechamber also work as a kitchen. There were eletric cooker, frige, electric pot, table and also some dishes. In the room were two beds and one table, for one person it was good, for two people it can be little unconfortable.
