Employer
Employer
MOLNAR-INSTITUTE for Applied Chromatography - it is a small company in area of pharmaceutical and analytical industry. It was convenient to work there, nice environment and colleges.
Work description
The job description fit on the o-form description. I was doing lab analysis on HPLC plus learning about the software DryLab which I have used daily for modeling the lab experiments. I was also studying about the chromatography itself.
Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)
In total, I got around 1000 EUR also with the support of the accomodation stipend. Accommodation stipendium varies according to your living costs. For me, it was a sufficient salary.
But it depends on the accomodation price mostly and personal lifestyle. Finding accomodation for a nice price in Berlin is extremely difficult, e.g. Facebook is full of scammers. Watch out for it.

Language requirements
Generally for Berlin English is enough. It is a huge city with many possibilities. In my company, everyone spoke English too as well as german. Both languages are ok.
Accommodation (price, who provided it)
I needed to find accomodation on my own. It was quite a challenge even though I started early. It was a challenge for everybody I spoke to. I was not living with any other interns. Prices in shared flats are doable, to get your place is very pricy.

Social life
Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)
I didn´t need any pick-up. I came after summer as my internship was from September, but I saw in the WA group that during the summer there were some nice trips and gathering around the whole Germany.
My local commitee organized walking tour for us which ended up at local restaurant exploxing local cusine, we also had a Halloween party and goodbye dinner. There was maybe one more event not sure. But not that many, also during autumn there were not that many interns, I guess there are more of them in summer months.
With other interns we traveled also abroad - to Prague, to Budapest and to Amsterdam, those were very nice trips - recommended.

Meeting other foreign students
Yes, at the first event - walking tour - I met few other interns with them I kept meeting and exploring Berlin till the end of the internship. It was very nice.
Sport and culture
There are many museum options to see and visit, we went also to the light festival.
Food, local specialties
I had Schnitzel with potato salat, that is actually similar to our slovak cusine as well. I tried also Spätzle, I really liked it , it was similar to gnocci or our halusky, I tried more variants and it was really delicious. We have tried also various beer brands. In Berlin are also more Foodmarkets with international food stands, we also visited those few time, known is Markthalle 9.
Other information
Possibilites to communicate with the Czech Republic
With CZ IAESTE I communicated just in the beginning per mail, later I didn´t have the need to contact them.
Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

What not to forget with you
Take cash, there are still many places where you can pay just cash or if you pay less than 10-15e some places also require just cash. But there is still enough places with possibility to pay by card.
Benefits of the internship
Experience of working in my field, language skills, travels and trips, getting to know new people and making friends.
Cooperation with IAESTE in the foreign country
Alright, nice.
Overall experience with IAESTE
Very well, I would recommend it.
