Marketing coordinator, taking care about the website, writing descriptions about chemicals, make blog posts, events, social media poster...

Accommodation (price, who provided it)

I found accomodation by myself for good price but I would be careful.It is not easy to find a good accomodation for good price. Calidornia is super expensive so I would rather recommend you to find somebody who will find accommodation for you.

Social life

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

No IAESTE members. No events. Just me so it was pretty boring. But I found friends by myself especially from house where I lived.

Meeting other foreign students

I met 3 guys from korea. They worked in same company.

Sport and culture

I started play soccer but just because of my friend who was playing soccer and he has car so we could go. Without the car you are lost in SD and buses and ubers are expensive.

Food, local specialties

sushi, mexican food, chicken wings, japanese, korean, chinesse, thai cousine. You can find here pretty much everything.

Recommendations for students who will go to the same place

I would recommend to other students to find somebody who will provide accommodation for them close to the company. The buses and ubers are expensive and you will be have just enough money to survive. Also if you like to be alone then this position is for you but if you like to meet new people i would not recommend this internship becouse there was nobody else from students/IAESTE.

What not to forget with you

Take a lot more money then you think you will need.

Benefits of the internship

You will improve your English because there is nobody who speaks your language. You gain new experience from the marketing and biochemical materials.you will learn how to be self-sustaining.

Cooperation with IAESTE in the foreign country

The people from iaeste united states are very helpful. When I had some problems they always had solution. So do not worry and ask them if you need anything they are willing to help you.
