Work offered

Kind of work:
Numerical and Experimental Studies on Micro Energy Source
Recently, micro energy source attracts much attention for powering autonomous robots and IoT/wearable devices. One of such devices is a fuel-powered small-scale power generator using microscale combustion. The other approach is so-called energy harvesting, which extracts electricity from environmental energy such as structural vibration and body heat. The objectives of this work are to develop analytical models of such devices based on numerical simulation and experiments, and to propose an optimal design method.
Exact topic and approach will depend on the background of the trainee, which includes MEMS vibration energy harvester, wrist-worn rotational energy harvester, high-power-density thermoelectric power generator, microscale combustor, and so on.
