Okolí místa praxe: There are many great trips you can take. I recommend going to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha, or hiking the Dragon’s Back trail. The beaches at Sai Kung are beautiful. You can also take a boat to small islands like Cheung Chau.

O firmě: Alps Alpine is an electronics manufacturer, making all sorts of small electronic components like buttons and encoders. They are now starting to focus on the automotive area. I was working in the R&D division. All my colleagues were pleasant. The only disadvantage was, that nobody could speak English well, mostly not even a bit. But everyone was trying to, and modern translators were a big help.

Přínos praxe: I got to know Switzerland, I found some contacts in the working field, I found some new friends, and had a lot of unimaginable experiences. Apart from other internships you can save up a pretty decent amount of money as well which was nice. I learned a lot and leveled my communication skills more further (from none to some).

Místní kuchyně: Fondue, Raclette, any other cheese, Lindt, Toblerone, Ovomaltine, any other chocolate, soft drink Rivella... I think all these are a must to try.

Sport a kultura: There were many possibilities for sport on the campus. There were fields for football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball, so it was possible to play almost anything. The only minus was that the gym on campus was closed one week after my arrival and stayed closed until the end of my internship.
