Okolí místa praxe: I would reccommend a trip to desert for sure. Khor Fakkan is a nice town with beautiful surrounding areas and many hiking trails. Fujairah is a smaller town with very nice beaches. We went to Abu Dhabi for a weekend. Since Dubai is very close we used to spend a lot of time there. Some interns also went on a trip to Oman.

Místní kuchyně: I tried a lot of different cheeses — a must for anyone who loves cheese — and they were all excellent. In connection with that, I also tried fondue, which was delicious. Lastly, I’d like to encourage you to buy some good Swiss chocolate — not the kind from the grocery store, but from places like Sprüngli or Läderach. I brought some home, and everyone loved it.

Sport a kultura: Get prepared for walking a lot. I personally couldn’t go to the gym because of my tattoos. Tattoos are tabu in japan and you will not be allowed to go to onsen (spa) for example. But even if you have some, people are still pretty helpful and friendly. You will just get some weird looks.
