Okolí místa praxe: Lodz is located in the middle of Poland, which makes it easier to reach other travel destinations. I would recommend visiting other large cities, such as of course Warsaw, also Krakow and Wroclaw.
Personally I found the northern part of Poland the most beautiful. The country has a nice seashore with many memorable places, such as Hel, Gdansk, Sopot, and others.

O firmě: Alps Alpine is an electronics manufacturer, making all sorts of small electronic components like buttons and encoders. They are now starting to focus on the automotive area. I was working in the R&D division. All my colleagues were pleasant. The only disadvantage was, that nobody could speak English well, mostly not even a bit. But everyone was trying to, and modern translators were a big help.

Přínos praxe: learned a lot by watching people on the construction site and seeing how they calculated the materials they needed to order. I also got to know a bit more about their culture and how life works there. I met so many people from all over the world, and together we explored the country and made unforgettable memories.

Místní kuchyně: Food is a chapter of its own—it's brilliant. You definitely won’t find pork, but lamb is more common here than in Europe. Be prepared that if you want to fully experience Istanbul, you might gain a little weight. Drinking hot black tea and strong black coffee is also a big part of the culture.

Sport a kultura: Brazilian culture is very rich, but apart from sightseeing and art galleries, I didn’t really get a chance to experience anything significant. On the other hand, I lived next to a football field, and football is a big deal there. There was even a cross-campus competition in which my supervisor participated (and his team won!).
