O firmě: I was very lucky with my employer. Half of the people spoke English, and the other half made an effort. :) They always tried to make me feel included and welcomed. Throughout the summer, my coworker Ilayda was there for me, helping with everything. It was easy to communicate, and if I needed something, they were always open to helping out.

Místní kuchyně: I ate only local dishes. You can find some wested cuisine restaurants on campus but they are more expensive and it is definetly not authentic. You can also find Portugeese restaurants in the city.

Sport a kultura: The sports facilities were right at the dorms. As for outdoor sports, it’s quite challenging due to the heat and humidity. Locals don’t really hike during the summer, but it wasn’t a problem for us. The culture is completely different—from food, religion, and transportation to social interactions. There’s a lot to get used to and discover.
