Technion is the biggest university of technology in Israel. From the city center you can reach it by public transport (no. 11, 17, 123) in about 15 minutes. Near the Technion is Ziv center with shops. Also inside of Technion there are shops and restaurant.

City of Haifa is modern fast developing city, where are located big international companies - Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Google. City is located on the shore of mediterranean sea and it is about 1 hour from Tel Aviv.

Trips are possible around Haifa. There is lot of places to visit with historic or cultural heritage. Few minutes from Haifa there are old port cities of Acre and Cesarea. Mostly all our trips was all around the Israel. It is easy and cheep to rent a car and public transport works good ass well, but not during Shabbat. You can visit historic cities of Nazareth, Jerusalem and as well natural park Golan Heights and Corral reef in Eliat.

Israel Electric Co.
IEC is the largest supplier of electrical power in Israel. The IEC builds, maintains, and operates power generation stations, sub-stations, as well as transmission and distribution networks.
The company is the sole integrated electric utility in the State of Israel. Its installed generating capacity represents about 75% of the total electricity production capacity in the country. It transmits and distributes substantially all the electricity used in Israel, including power generated by other producers. The State of Israel owns approximately 99.85% of the company

Sallary is bellow average compare to the Israeli salary, but it is enough for student life and for little traveling around Israel. Problem was, that because of rules of IEC we got salary for first month in the beginning of second month and second salary 3 days before our departure.

English is enough. If you know Russian even better, a lot of Russians live here. Also Hebrew and Arabic is good advantage to know.

Accommodation was in Technion Dormitories. It was provided by IAESTE Israel. Price for this room is 1000 ILS (240€) per month. Accommodation is in apartments for 6 people, each one has own room. There are 2 bathrooms and common kitchen/living room

We went from airport to Technion by ourselves. It was easy, we got detailed description of the way before arriving. After arriving to Technion we met our coordinator from IAESTE, got our apartments an students card for Technion.

First meeting was planed after everyone arrived. During internship we managed all the activities and trips together via WhatsApp group.

With Technion student card it is allowed to use gym, swimming pool, tennis courts for free. In the Technion there is cinema playing almost every night and also salsa lessons 2-3 times per week. You can find good night life during the weekend in downtown (20 min by bus). During summer there is lot of performances and concerts. Also a lot of bars, restaurants or clubs.

Falafel, Shawarma, Pita and Humus are everywhere. you can get this fast food in every corner for about 15 ILS (3,5€). Also you can try all kinds of food in restaurants, normally about 60 ILS (15€).

Using skype, WhatsApp or other web channels. WiFi is almost everywhere.

I recommend to buy GOLAN T Sim Card. It is 100 ILS (25 €) per two months and you can get 10GB of data per month. It is enough to be in touch with Czech Republic and have all the information you need with you.
Download App Moovit. It is App for public transport, it is in Englis and also in Czech (and many more languages). It shows you all the public transport lines and it will tell you when to get out of the bus.
And don't believe everything you see in TV. Israel is maybe more safe the Czech. There are some problems in Gaza strip, but you are not going there anyway.

First and maybe most important thing is, that I understand more of cultural and political situation here. You can experience lot of cultures and different beliefs in one place and it is amazing.
As well I created a lot of new friendships and find new opportunities for my future career.
I was able to see how big company works and total difference in problem solving situations compare to Europe.

Coordinator from IAESTE recommend us places to visit, but most trips we planed by ourselves. From time to time she joined us for trip. All the problems and difficulties we had she solved very good.
