Location of the place
Macao in in Southern China near Hong Kong so it is quite easy reachable.
City
Macao is former Portugese colony, which is SAR - special administrative region of China. City is famous mostly for it's casinos which is main reason why this city is rich.
Surroundings (possible trips, ...)
You can travel to nearby countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong etc as EU citizen without Visa, or you can get cheap group tourist visa for visiting China mainland nearby Macao. To go further to mainland (like to bejing) you need to pass more complicated process to get visa.

I was working for University of Macao under supervision of Robert P. Biuk-Aghai.
Work description
I was working on new features for existing extensions developed by university for wikimedia platform. They are published online also.
Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)
sufficient for living and exploring a bit, but if you want to travel a lot, it's not enough

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)
No pick-up and basically no information provided for how to get from the airport to dorms. Just address which I gave to taxi driver on first day. But if you download app "Macao easy go" it is very easy to find correct bus. IAESTE organised few diners together for all trainees and we often visited Patrick in his office for IAESTea :) Patrick is person who we were communicating with according internship.
Meeting other foreign students
As trainees in macao we've been together all the time, we travelled together, or just explored city/went to hang out in the evening. We've been living on the same floor at dorms as well.
Sport and culture
In school campus it is possible to do all kind of sport activities, like gym, badminton, basketball, swimming, etc. Most of them are for free.
Food, local specialties
For European its really nice experience, I tried different types of sea food, we have been to hotpot.

Perhaps bedsheets and some kitchen stuff if you don't want to buy that. And ofcourse umbrella! But probably you will receive one from university :D
