bc. Jan Rajtmajer, CTU Prague,
ročník 4About the country
Location of the place
Lebanon , officially the Lebanese Republic, is a sovereign state in Western Asia. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south, whilst Cyprus is west across the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon's location at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland facilitated its rich history and shaped a cultural identity of religious and ethnic diversity. At just 10,452 km2, it is the smallest recognized country on the entire Asian continent.
City
Its a capital. Its similar to Prague just more dust. There are shops, malls, pubs, clubs, restaurant, etc. Unfortunately, there is no undergroud and alltime is a traffic jam. I never met terrorists in Libanon. :P
Surroundings (possible trips, ...)
Members of IAESTE Libanon prepared trips for us every weekend. I visited Shouf, Baalbek, Tripoli, Byblos, Museum of Hisballah, Cedars of Gods, national park, etc. In Libanon is a lot of possibilities to travel or just clubbing.
Employer
Employer
I worked at AUB. Its second the best university on Middle east. Campus of AUB is really nice. There is private beach, swimming pool, gym and also faculties. Its just one "green" place in Beiruth.
People at university are kind and helpfull. I had no problems with employer(my boss) during my internship.
