Ostschweizer Fachhochschule the Institute of Photonics and Microtechnology was a very nice workplace. They provide a lot of learning opportunities and a good environment.
Work description
The project was focused on developing different types of sensors. So I first started with literature research, then started designing. I also got to see how they are fabricated in the clean rooms. And also did some testing of their features as well as automated measurements.
Salary (sufficient for local conditions?)
I got 2300 before deductions, and 2080 after. I think it was sufficient.
Language requirements
English was enough. I knew a bit of German, which was enough to navigate life outside work.
Accommodation (price, who provided it)
500 CHF for a whole basement apartment from a lovely couple who were friends of an IAESTE employee in Switzerland.

Meeting IAESTE members (pick-up at the airport, organized events...)

In the area of Buchs you can do a lot of hikes and winter sports, as well as the rest of Swizerland
