FHIR based implementation of a patient query

1) Situation:
- FHIR based implementation of a patient query from the LIS (Laboratorium Information System) to a HIS (Hospital Information System)
- Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR, pronounced "fire) is a draft standard describing data formats and elements (known as "resources") and an application programming interface (API) for exchanging electronic health records. The standard was created by the Health Level Seven International (HL7) health-care standards organization. (see also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_Healthcare_Interoperability_Resources)

2) Challenge
Expected features of the application:
- The application should integrate in the existing MIPS Osgi (see https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSGI) based Java Communication Engine.
- The application should support patient query on :
* Patient Identification Number assigned by a provider
* Patient Name and optional First name
* Patient Name and Date of Birth
* Patient Visit Number assigned by an Institution
- The application should exchange the information in a secured manner (see also OWASP)
- Optional : Additional FHIR Based Report/Result Query Applications for our LIS application GLIMS.
